THE ECO CODE

 

As an Eco-School we should do everything we can so we truly appreciate the definition of Eco and help in the issues that contribute to global warming.

 

Our action plan is simple but effective as it includes:

 

• Finding ways to make and use compost so we stop the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

• Plant more trees and flowers so more carbon dioxide can be absorbed and more oxygen can be supplied promoting biodiversity.•

• We should plant indigenous trees as alien plants use more water.

• We should try organic methods of fertilizing our garden and bio-pest control and management.

• We must prevent unnecessary printing to prevent the cutting down of trees.

 

Water

 

• Water must be saved by ensuring that no taps or pipes leak.

• Learners should close the taps properly and migrate this concept home.

• We must look at the possibility of recycling water.

• Do not leave the sprinkler sprinkling unnecessarily.

 

Electricity

 

• Use it wisely

• Consider solar panels for the computer labs.

 

Recycling

 

• This must become a habit.

• Promote recycling by providing collection points for paper, plastic glass and organic material.

 

We should not do this for an incentive but for the love of the environment.
